Low Milk Supply Consult

As a Family Nurse Practitioner and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I support families navigating complex breastfeeding and milk supply concerns. I focus and help treat the root cause, not just managing the symptoms. We’ll take a deep dive into the possible reasons behind low milk supply, answer your questions, and create a clear plan to help you support and maximize your milk production We’ll not only focus on feeding the baby, but also on supporting your health- because your well-being matters too.

What We’ll Cover:

  • A thorough assessment and treatment plan tailored to your feeding history, concerns, and goals

  • Review of possible root causes of low milk supply such as latch issues, milk removal, endocrine, metabolic issues, nutrition, or other medical factors.

  • Practical education related to low milk supply and treatment options.

  • Blood work recommendations related to identifying possible underlying causes when clinically appropriate.

  • Discussion of potential medication options when indicated.

What’s included:

  • 1st visit is a 45 min session either in person or telehealth

  • 2nd visit is a 30 min session via telehealth

I support mothers in building an effective, sustainable pumping routine that aligns with your feeding goals. Whether you’re exclusively pumping, returning to work, or trying to increase output, this consult is designed to help you pump with confidence and efficiency.

Pumping isn’t just about the machine—it’s about understanding your body, your schedule, and the many factors that influence milk production. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that supports both your milk supply and your overall well-being.

What we’ll cover:

  • A comprehensive assessment of your current pumping routine, equipment, and goals

  • Flange sizing and pump optimization to improve comfort and output

  • Guidance on establishing or adjusting a pumping schedule based on your lifestyle and feeding needs

  • Strategies to maximize milk production, including milk removal techniques and supply support

  • Troubleshooting common challenges such as low output, pain with pumping, or time constraints

  • Support for transitioning (returning to work, exclusive pumping, combination feeding, or weaning from pumping)

  • Practical education on milk storage, handling, and building a freezer stash if desired

  • Personalized recommendations to help make pumping more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable
